Build Week 20: Plumbing, Electrical, and Mechanical
With framing nearing completion, we are moving on with plumbing, electrical, and even some mechanical!
Week of January 21 - Days 37 & 38
Each week brings with it new advancements and opportunities to learn new areas in the world of construction. First and foremost, our framing is continuing, and getting very close to being ready for inspection. That included adding additional sheathing to our roofs for extra strength and sheathing our upper level. Our parapets are almost all in, and it is all looking great!
With the building now more enclosed, we were able to begin interior work, specifically in the areas of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical. Marcus and JD from Innovative Plumbing came back to help us extend the plumbing in our foundation up into the walls and out of the roof for venting. We also had Rey from K-Bar Electric come and get our electrical started, taking us on as temporary apprentices to teach us the world of electrical. Jörg tackled installing the ERV which looks like a cool spaceship hanging from the ceiling. The help of these professionals has been fantastic, teaching us so much and advancing our progress leaps and bounds.
And of course, our biggest helpers each and every week are the Kungas!
