Blog Post Week 10: Exterior and Interior Trim Work on Units 9&10

This week on-site class was only held on Thursday. We resumed work and it was a productive day. The goal was to finish the upstairs portion of both units so that the families could stuff in. We were able to finally finish all of the base board upstairs including cutting, installing, putty and painting. And the remaining outlet and switch covers were installed as well.

10/25/2018 - Day 15

The laundry closet on the east unit was finished by painting the bifold doors and installing some tile flooring. The tile was placed in lieu of a drainage pan and it really helped aesthetically make the closet look nice. It won’t be seen that much once the washer and dryer are installed, but it’s still a nice touch.
The other guys were able to finish one of the benches that were started last week. They are placed in the front of the house to cover the monitoring equipment and to add an additional place for storage as well as a table to hold some planting pots. It really turned out great and became a nice addition to the front visual of each unit. The box on the other unit has begun to be constructed as well.
The shut-off valves on the plumbing was installed so that water can be turned on and the front doors finally arrived and were being installed by one of the other workers. The insides of the units are really getting closer to being finished. There are a few finishes that remain on the lower levels and then it’s on to the exterior and wrapping up the first two units!
